Quality Manager

Job Description: Quality Manager

1. Qualification Requirements:
College degree in engineering/quality related field or equivalent experience
Thorough knowledge of modern quality principles
Previous participation/leadership in ISO 9001:2008 and TS 16949 quality systems and auditing
Thorough understanding of SPC, sampling techniques, and procedures
Knowledge in auditing processes
Experience in continuous improvements
Experience completing automotive PPAP documentation
CMM experience is a plus
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

2.Reports to:
Vice President

3. Authority:
Supervises all quality technicians
Develops and maintains quality system and procedures
Determines acceptability of products to be shipped to customer
Determines that all quality policies, procedures, instructions, and reports meet the customer quality system requirements; that standard shall minimally be ISO 9001:2008/TS 16949
Schedule, review and lead yearly quality system audits (internal and external)

4. Special Circumstances of the Job:
Must be able to climb stairs Additional working hours (40+) may be required to meet deadlines
Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time
Must possess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects

5. Job Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:
The Quality Manager provides leadership for all quality requirements of the company, including developing quality systems and procedures, inspection processes, statistical process control, determination of sampling systems, maintenance of the quality system, as well as investigations and correction of customer complaints Responsible for ongoing monitoring of customer portals/websites and for timely response to customer requirements
Collects quality related data, analyzes, summarizes and presents it to senior management
Contributes to improvements in operational efficiency
Directs failure analysis and develops corrective actions
Maintain calibration of quality equipment (gages and devices)
Prepares work instructions
Prepares PPAP and layouts
Lead quality improvement initiatives
Maintain training program and oversee training for all employees

7. Quality Responsibilities:
Responsible for all quality functions

8. Results Expected:
Maintain quality certification. Continuous reduction in internal scrap and the elimination of customer complaints/rejections.

9. Personal Improvement:
Expected to set and reach one major and two minor goals per year. A major goal is the completion of a college level course or outside business related seminar. A minor goal is participation in a Kaizen or serving for a minimum of six months on a cross-functional committee.

10. Compensation:
$40000 - 45000 Per Year
