Job Description: Production Internship

Description:
Woodland Plastics Corporation, located in Addison, IL is seeking a detail oriented Production Intern to assist the Production Manager. Duties include working with the Production Manager to maintain inventory, review and entry of production data and scrap as well as update/maintain bills-of-materials.

The internship runs January 6th to May 16, 2014. This is a paid Internship requiring 15-20 hours per week which must be worked at our location between the hours of 7 am -11:30 am M-F working 3-4 hours per day.

Skills to be developed:

  • Production management
  • Inventory control
  • Purchasing
  • Improve oral and written communication skills
  • Improve Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Learn relationship between the bills- of-materials, scheduling, purchasing and shipping the finished product

Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter daily production numbers for three shifts
  • Produce and distribute Production Report
  • Maintain daily raw material, work-in-process and finished goods inventory
  • Create purchase orders as instructed by Production Manager
  • Work with Production Manager to keep bills-of-material up to date
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Intern must be a self-started and able to work well without constant direction
  • Intern must possess strong oral and written communications skills
  • Intern must possess strong attention to detail
  • Intern must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Intern should possess an understanding of Manufacturing
  • Should be a Business major with an emphasis in Production or Operations Management with a minimum GPA of 2.5
